President Donald Trump has delivered what could be considered the first review of the highly anticipated Amazon documentary chronicling his wife, First Lady Melania Trump.

“It’s incredible," Trump declared. The comment came ahead of the film’s January 30 release, despite the president admitting he has not seen the final cut. “I’ve seen pieces of it, it’s incredible … she did a book and the book was a big number one best seller, and this is a movie and it seems to be captivating a lot of people’s attention,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday.

Melania herself serves as an executive producer on the project, part of a multi-million-dollar deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

The documentary, titled 'Melania,' follows the First Lady over the 20 days leading up to President Trump’s second inauguration, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her transition back to the White House. Clips from the trailer show Melania preparing for inauguration events, attending rallies, and conducting private meetings.

“Everyone wants to know, so here it is,” Melania says in the trailer, as the footage cuts between intimate moments at the White House and her interactions across New York, Florida, and Washington, D.C. Viewers also see her arriving at the U.S. Capitol on Inauguration Day wearing the striking black-and-white hat that became the subject of much discussion.

Queen Rania of Jordan makes a notable appearance in the film, reflecting a long-standing relationship with Melania. Their collaboration spans years, from visits to the White House in 2017 and 2018 to discussions on children’s welfare and education, and most recently at the 2025 launch of Melania’s global initiative, Fostering the Future Together, during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Spouses of heads of state, including Queen Rania, attended the event, emphasizing the First Lady’s diplomatic reach.

One standout scene in the trailer features the pair in conversation at the White House, with Melania saying, “Together with like-minded leaders, we have a voice.” Queen Rania appears in an all-black ensemble, contrasting Melania’s white attire, underscoring the symbolic importance of the meeting. Following a Palm Beach meeting, Queen Rania shared a photo of the two women, writing, “It was a pleasure reconnecting with incoming U.S. First Lady Melania Trump in Florida.”

While the film casts the First Lady in a political and diplomatic light, the trailer also hints at lighter personal moments.

The documentary is directed by Brett Ratner. Melania herself serves as an executive producer on the project, part of a multi-million-dollar deal with Amazon MGM Studios. In an interview with Fox News, she explained her motivation for the film.

“The 20 days of my life, preceding the U.S. presidential inauguration, constitute a rare and defining moment, one that warrants meticulous care, integrity, and uncompromising craftsmanship," she said.

Ahead of the premiere at the Trump Kennedy Center, Trump teased the event’s exclusivity. “The premier [is going to be] at the Trump Kennedy Center, it will be very exciting. It’s a very hard ticket I can tell you, everybody, Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet … he said last night ‘gee I wanna go’,” Trump said. “Everybody wants tickets to the premiere. I think it’s going to be great.”

While the film casts the First Lady in a political and diplomatic light, the trailer also hints at lighter personal moments. In one clip, Melania is seen on the phone with the president, congratulating him. “Did you watch it?” Trump asks. “I did not, no, yeah, I will see it on the news,” she responds.

The documentary will also mark a rare public exploration of Melania’s perspective. Earlier this month at the John F. Kennedy Center, President Trump offered a candid glimpse into Melania’s private critiques of his on-stage antics.

“My wife hates when I do this,” he told Republican lawmakers, referencing his now-famous dance moves. “She’s a very classy person, right? She said, ‘It’s so unpresidential.’ I said, ‘But I did become president.’”

Melania’s objections extend beyond dancing. Trump recounted that she also dislikes his habit of pretending to lift weights onstage. “The weightlifting is terrible,” he said, quoting her. Yet despite her disapproval, Trump made clear he has no plans to stop the theatrics. “Now I have to say this. The dancing, they really like,” he added.

With Melania, viewers are offered a first look at both the public and private life of the First Lady, framed through exclusive access, high-profile diplomatic encounters, and the president’s own colorful commentary. It promises to reveal not just the woman behind the White House title, but the complex interplay of family, politics, and global influence that defines her world.
