Amal Clooney is standing firmly by her sister, accessories designer Tala Alamuddin, as Tala navigates a new chapter following the collapse of her second marriage.
Tala, 53, has separated from French businessman Nicolas Le Tallec, 45, with whom she lived in Singapore, and has returned to London to be closer to family.
Amal, 47, and her husband, George Clooney, 64, who divide their time between homes in Berkshire, London, Los Angeles, and Lake Como, are reportedly offering unwavering support as Tala rebuilds her life post-divorce.
A spokesperson for Tala told the Daily Mail. "I can confirm she has separated from her ex-husband and is excited to be back in London and looking ahead to what's next. This move marks a new chapter for her, both personally and professionally, and she is very much focused on the positive opportunities ahead."
A friend close to Tala added. "Having Amal — and her other family and close friends — so close to her again means everything to Tala as she navigates this new phase of her life. The sisters are delighted to live near each other again after Tala's many years in Singapore, with their relationship having always been a rock-solid bond that has sustained them both through life's challenges."
The sisters, often noted for their glossy dark locks and sculpted cheekbones, have maintained a close bond despite careers and family life taking them across the globe.
Tala played a key role in Amal’s 2014 star-studded wedding to George Clooney, serving as a bridesmaid and helping organize the event, while Amal has frequently championed Tala’s accessories brand, TALA by Tala Alamuddin, wearing her sister’s bold, statement-making pieces at high-profile events, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding.
Born in Beirut to Lebanese businessman Ramzi Alamuddin and political journalist Baria Alamuddin, the sisters moved to the UK in 1980 to escape the Lebanese Civil War, settling in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.
Tala studied at Richmond American International University in London before moving to New York to work as an events manager. She later relocated to Singapore after marrying her first husband, Nagi Hamiyeh, 56, with whom she had three children.
Their daughter, Mia, 23, a flower girl at Amal and George’s wedding, recently graduated from London’s BPP Law School with distinction, following in her aunt’s footsteps.
Tala and Nagi divorced in 2016, a year before Tala launched her accessories label, TALA by Tala Alamuddin, featuring colourful rock-chic handbags, jewellery, and clothing. Shortly after, she married Nico Le Tallec, who worked in Singapore for British financial services firm Marex Spectron. Since their split, Tala has relocated to London, while Nico remains in Singapore.
Reflecting on her return, Tala shared a candid Instagram post. "There's something both grounding and unfamiliar about coming home. After years in Singapore — raising my family, building, creating, and moving at full speed — I've found myself back in London, in a new rhythm, in a new chapter. The city feels different this time. Maybe because I am, too."
She continued. "My children are grown, my pace has shifted, and I'm learning to prioritise myself again — my creativity, my health, my time. Here’s to new routines, new friends, rediscovering old ones, and embracing the beauty of reinvention and... beginning again."
A spokesperson added that Tala is continuing to expand her brand from London, integrating a wellness-led offering alongside luxury accessories.
"A key focus at present is transitioning the business to a made-to-order model, leading by example in furthering sustainability efforts. This work reflects Tala's growing passion and deepening commitment to her purpose of supporting women to live the life they desire."
Throughout her journey, Amal has been a steadfast supporter of Tala’s creative and professional ambitions. The sisters have also shared philanthropic endeavors, mirroring Amal’s dedication to social causes by campaigning for issues such as COVID relief and breast cancer awareness.
From their upbringing in Beirut to their life in London, and through the highs and lows of marriage and career, Tala and Amal Clooney have proven their bond is unshakeable, a sisterhood that now finds renewed closeness in London as Tala embraces her new chapter.
