Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova have welcomed their fourth child. Months after ¡HOLA! announced in a world exclusive that they were expecting another baby, the couple is now finally holding their newborn in their arms. “My sun,” they wrote alongside an image with the baby resting in what looks like a hospital crib, next to a stuffed sloth. The baby’s arrival, undoubtedly the best gift this Christmas, took place on December 17.
Thrilled by the birth, the singer and songwriter becomes a father for the fourth time at age 50, while the former Russian tennis player and model has just turned 44. The couple expands their already large family, made up of twins Lucy and Nicholas, seven, and Mary, five, who they affectionately also call Masha, the Russian translation of her name, in her mother’s homeland.
The arrival of this new baby has filled the entire family with happiness, which is growing on two fronts. His sister, Ana Boyer, is also expecting a baby girl with Fernando Verdasco, as they announced in ¡HOLA! alongside their three children: “We really wanted to have a fourth child, and we are very happy. It has been wonderful news and a joy to be pregnant again.”
Adorably, the couple met at an Enrique Iglesias concert, and he is thrilled to become an uncle again: “My brother Enrique is extremely excited. The two babies will be very close in age, and my other children are also close in age to his; they are all around the same ages.”
As for their mom, Isabel Preysler, she's thrilled to soon have ten grandchildren who will carry on the family legacy. When Kournikova’s pregnancy became known, she shared her happiness, as did her daughter Tamara Falcó: “It was a surprise, especially because they already had a boy, a girl, and another girl. And my brother was telling me, ‘You have no idea how much work kids are. You have to be super alert,’” the Marchioness of Griñón told us, unable to hide her joy. “As a couple who has been together their whole lives, I loved that they are having another child at this stage,” she said emotionally.
Iglesias and Kournikova have been together for 24 years, since the spark between them ignited in 2001 during the filming of the “Escape” music video, one of the artist’s biggest hits. From the very first moment their eyes met, the chemistry between them was palpable. Over time, we learned that the attraction that crossed the screen was real, and since then, they have lived a solid love story and a discreet life with their children in Indian Creek, one of the most luxurious and exclusive islands in Miami, where they keep their privacy protected.
Although they never felt the need to walk down the aisle, the arrival of their children may have changed that reality. It was his brother, Julio Iglesias Jr., who may have accidentally revealed it during a 2023 interview with Sonsoles Ónega. “What Enrique didn’t do was have a big wedding,” he said naturally when asked about his siblings’ weddings, without realizing that the couple had never shared it publicly.
A detail that did not go unnoticed. When they asked if Preysler had seen each of her five kids married, he responded, "At least once, yes." Similarly, the former elite tennis player updated her public profiles and added her partner’s last name, Anna Kournikova Iglesias.
In recent months, Kournikova has been photographed running errands with her children while showing off her baby bump, and Enrique has shared enthusiastic statements about his growing family. “(I feel) a lot of responsibility, but I’m happy and very excited,” the "Hero" singer shared. But always maintaining some privacy, and despite being kind to reporters, he deflected some questions, including whether the baby would be a boy or a girl.
Since becoming parents, both the composer and the athlete enjoy every moment with their children and do not hesitate to share heartwarming family scenes with their followers, playing in the garden, splashing in the pool, or fishing with their kids. They love raising their family together, and Enrique has on occasion spoken enthusiastically about the Russian former tennis player’s role as a mother. “It’s incredible to witness what a good mother she is,” he told The Sun, adding: “It’s amazing to see a mother do what she does when a mother’s instinct kicks in.”
The athlete has also acknowledged that since becoming a mother, she only wants to dedicate all her time to her children. “Being with them is happiness, I’m not willing to miss a single second,” she said when the twins were born.
A year ago, the singer released what would be his final album, Final Vol. 2. However, he made it clear that this did not mean a farewell to the music industry. The artist will continue releasing songs and performing concerts, although he emphasized that “the world has changed and it’s no longer necessary to release albums” in the traditional way. A role he will balance with that of husband and father to “my suns,” as he usually refers to his children.
