Ronaldo and Rodriguez met at a Gucci store in Madrid in 2016. “It was a summer Thursday. My shift ended at 5 p.m., and a coworker asked me to stay 30 more minutes to help a client. As I was leaving, a gorgeous man, almost two meters tall, walked in with a child and a group of friends. Stunning. The child greeted me very politely and laughed. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I thought, ‘What’s happening to me?’ I didn’t even want to look at him—I was so embarrassed,” said Rodriguez in the Netflix documentary series, "I Am Georgina."

After seeing each other at the store, they crossed paths again at a party, where they were able to talk more comfortably. That second encounter led to their first dates around the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez have often shared the importance of their kids, and how their dynamic as a family sits at the heart of their relationship. The pair share five kids: Cristiano Jr., the eldest; twins Eva and Mateo; and their biological daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda. Bella Esmeralda is the twin sister of Ángel, who tragically died at birth in April 2022.
