The pair was detained by the FBI after filming themselves dancing and singing in the aisle of a commercial flight, turning a promotional stunt into international news.
The incident unfolded on a flight in the United States, where the duo, known for their irreverent humor and high-energy performances, attempted to record a video for their new single, 'Chapulín.'
Armed with a portable camera, Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso strutted through the cabin, belting out their song and captivating passengers with their signature mix of charm and audacity. But the fun quickly clashed with airline protocol.
A flight attendant, visibly uncomfortable, intervened, asking the duo to return to their seats. The situation escalated when the flight attendant said, "No, don't touch me!" Soon after, the pilot made an announcement, directing them to cease the performance and sit down.
By the time the plane touched down, four FBI agents were waiting. In the airport’s secure area, the musicians faced questioning, while a member of their team attempted to translate and mediate between the officials and the duo.
Despite the tension, Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso remained composed, and no statements have yet been issued by the artists themselves regarding the incident.
The duo’s journey began in Rosario, Argentina, where Catriel (Ivo) and Paco (Ulises) first experimented with music on SoundCloud. Their unique style blends trap, hip hop, R&B, and elements of Argentine folklore, creating a sound that is as eclectic as it is distinctive.
The two artists first met at age six, bonding over school music workshops. By 2010, they formed a rock band, Astor y las Flores de Marte, before officially becoming a duo in 2018, shifting toward experimental trap, funk, hip hop, and pop.
Their meteoric rise culminated at the 2025 Latin Grammys, where they dominated the night alongside global superstar Bad Bunny. Ca7riel and Paco took home awards for Best Pop Song, Best Alternative Song, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Short-Form Music Video, and Best Long-Form Music Video.
