In the world of celebrity breakups, few have lingered in the public imagination quite like the end of Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro’s perfect romance.

Two years after the pair shocked fans by calling off their engagement, the former couple is suddenly back in the spotlight. While not together, online users have gone back to wonder about what really happened in their relationship.

Rosalía has released 'LUX,' her most vulnerable and symbolically charged album to date, containing lyrics that many listeners believe point directly to the emotional fallout of her relationship with the Puerto Rican star.

And just as the internet begins dissecting every line, Rauw appears on the cover of PAPER Español, speaking softly and thoughtfully about identity, music, and the way he loves.

One line in particular has grabbed the fans' attention. "My love language is unfiltered. Direct. I like saying what I feel," he said, adding "straight up.”

In another week, it might have passed as a sweet personal detail. But with Rosalía singing about heartbreak, dishonesty, and canceled wedding dreams, Rauw’s comment lands with unexpected weight.

Specifically on the track 'La Perla,' featuring soft guitars and rising orchestration, Rosalía addresses a former partner with devastating precision. She calls him “a national heartbreaker,” “a narcissist,” “an enchanter,” and, in one of the most quoted lines from the album, “an emotional terrorist.”

The song adds to subtle but evocative hints. In a recent interview, Rosalía mentioned Santa Rosalía, a saint who famously fled her wedding the night before the ceremony, and let the “coincidence” hang in the air.“It’s a long story, better not talk about that," she added without saying much about her personal connection.

Her words stirred memories of 2023, when she revealed she’d already chosen her custom Vivienne Westwood wedding gown and planned to marry Rauw following her tour. Coincidentally, she recently wore a Vivienne Westwood bridal dress to perform 'La Perla' on Jimmy Fallon's show.

Despite the online buzz surrounding Rosalía’s lyrics, Rauw seems firmly rooted in a new life chapter, defined less by past heartbreak and more by clarity, purpose, and self-possession.

In the interview, he speaks openly about shedding fear and stepping into his full identity, both as an artist and as a man. “My pride is stronger than my fear, and I never miss the chance to use my voice to show my culture to the world. Now I live loudly and authentically,” he shares with the publication.
