Vanessa Trump is one proud mom.
Over the weekend, the former model and mother of five took to social media to celebrate her 17-year-old daughter Kai, who competed in her very first LPGA tournament.
The 18-year-old is still an amateur, and a University of Miami commit, but received an exemption to take part in the event where she finished 18-over par in her two rounds of play, per Yahoo! Sports. Following the first two rounds of the Annika, Trump sits in last place and is ranked 108th at the event.
Regardless of her ranking in the tournament, her mother is still proud of Kai for giving it her all, taking to Instagram to tell the world just how proud she is of the teenager.
"Congratulations on your first LPGA tournament," Vanessa's caption began. "Watching you give it your all was inspiring. This is just the beginning! I’m very proud of you Kai!"
Kai, who has been playing competitive golf since childhood, qualified for the tournament earlier this year after a strong junior season that caught the attention of coaches and scouts. Friends close to the family say she has been training “nonstop” in preparation for the event, often practicing before school and spending entire weekends at the course.
Prior to her first tournament, Kai received some advice from her mom’s golf icon boyfriend ahead, Tiger Woods.
“He told me to go out there and have fun and just go with the flow,” she told reporters on Wednesday. “Whatever happens, happens.”
The eldest Trump grandchild also said she got similar advice from the president, who told her: “Go out there and have fun. Just don’t get nervous.”
