Kim Kardashian is a successful billionaire and entrepreneur, and it turns out she's been working since a young age. She also had one of the most famous bosses on the planet - Madonna.
Kim was a guest on The Graham Norton Show, where she confirmed that she was not only Madonna's neighbor when she was little - she used to walk her dog. "When I was eight years old, I would walk her dog," she recalled.
The 45-year-old then revealed how she was paid for her services. There was no big check or stacks of cash. "She paid me in, remember those like, jelly rubber neon bracelets?" Kim said. "She paid me in those." Bryan Cranston, who was also a guest on the show, quipped, "She's so cheap."
Given Kim's age, this would have happened in 1988 or 1989. While it wasn't currency, it did give her some popularity points at school. "She handed them to me in a shoebox, and I remember going to school wearing them, and all my friends were like, 'Oh my god, that's so cool. Where did you get that?' And I was like, 'Madonna gave it to me,'" Kim recalled.
Kim said that Madonna asked her if she still had the bracelets, and she had to admit that she didn't know what she did with them. She said Madonna reacted, "she's like - you lost the coolest thing in the world."
Looking back, Kim said, “How could I have given away Madonna’s bracelets? I wish I still had them.”
She wasn't the only Kardashian who would walk her dog. Her sister Kourtney was part of the fun, too. Kim shared the story on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2024, saying, "Kourtney and I would walk her dog after school in exchange for her jewelry.“
Madonna was in the middle of a transitional period. “She was transitioning out of the ‘80s neon phase, so one day, she just walked downstairs and handed us a shoebox of all these neon bracelets,” she explained.
Hopefully, Kim gave some of the bracelets to friends, and somewhere, someone still has Madonna's jelly bracelets.
