The Dodgers are in the World Series, and last night's game was epic, going past 11 pm PST with 18 innings. One of the men chasing gold is Enrique "Kiké Hernández," who now holds the title for most postseason games played in Dodger history. With over 1.2M followers on Instagram and millions tuning in to the games, he has a lot of fans, but his biggest cheerleader is his wife, Mariana Vicente.
Vicente is currently pregnant with their second child, but that doesn't mean they're missing any games. The 36-year-old has been cheering for her man with their daughter Penélope, rocking custom outfits with his number 8.
Here's what you should know about the former beauty queen.
Who she is
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mariana Vicente is the oldest of four siblings. She started modeling at just 4 years old and went on to win Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010.
After representing her island on the international stage, she transitioned into acting, appearing in films like Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and shows like The Bold and the Beautiful. Her acting is actually what brought her and Kiké together.
Their love story
What feels straight out of a romantic comedy, in 2015, the baseball player spotted her while watching Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Her role in the film, according to IMDb, is literally "Shot Girl," proving that there is no such thing as a small part. It could literally be the reason you find your husband.
He looked her up online, slid into her DMs congratulating her on her performance, and soon found out they were both Puerto Rican living in L.A. After a few friendly messages and a lunch date, they spent months getting to know each other before realizing it was more than friendship.
By July 2017, Kiké knew she was the one. He proposed during a romantic trip to Big Sur, California, and a year later, the couple tied the knot in a dreamy Puerto Rican ceremony overlooking the ocean. The wedding was intimate, with a circular seating layout that let guests take in views of the island.
Their growing family
In January 2021, they welcomed their daughter, Penélope Isabel Hernández, and in August, the couple announced they’re expecting baby number two - a boy due in 2026.
Kiké often gushes about fatherhood and is a proud girl dad; his Instagram bio says nothing else but "Papá de Penélope."
The two lovebirds love sharing glimpses of their playful, loving dynamic on social media. For their 6th anniversary in 2024, Kiké posted a message in Spanish saying Mariana gave him "the most beautiful thing" he has, talking about their daughter.
On December 8, they will celebrate their 7-year wedding anniversary. Time will tell if they'll also be celebrating another World Series win.
