Zoe Saldaña recently turned heads in a bold, tattoo-baring look while enjoying a rare sports outing with her son. The 'Avatar' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star shared a sweet moment with her followers, posting a photo with her 8-year-old son Zen as they cheered on a soccer match.
"Smiles and sunnies type Saturday," she captioned the post for her 11.2 million Instagram followers. For the outing, the 47-year-old actress wore a sleek black bodysuit featuring large cutouts at the waist, perfectly showing off her rib tattoos.
She paired the edgy top with high-waisted black jeans and draped a white knit sweater with black stripes across her lap. Zoe also accessorized with red sunglasses. She wore her caramel-colored, medium-length hair straight with a middle part, complemented by luminous skin, defined brows, and a matching bright-red lip.
Saldaña shares her three sons, Zen and 10-year-old twins Cy and Bowie, with husband Marco Perego. Back in March, she paid a heartfelt tribute to her family while accepting the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez.
"And to my husband with that beautiful hair, what? The biggest honor in my life is being your partner. You hung the moon," she said. "And our beautiful, perfect sons, Cy, Bowen, and Zen, they fill our skies every night with stars."
The actress revealed in a 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight that she got a tattoo of her husband Marco Perego’s face on her left rib cage. "He has a tattoo of my face on his arm. So it was only fair that I return the gesture, and I always wanted to," she explained.
"In fact, I was the one who was going to do it in the first place, but we get our tattoos with an amazing artist called Mark Mahoney. Every time we go for me, Marco would end up convincing me that I didn't have to get it, so that he can get a new tattoo."
"This time I'm like I've been waiting for years and you're not going to shelf me and I'm going to get it. It's my turn. I got it," she added. The actress also shared the story of how she selected the perfect image of Perego to immortalize.
"I remember when I first started dating Marco and I went online because I know he's an artist. So I looked him up and a picture came up. I thought it was a nice profile of his so that was the picture I wanted to have," she said. The tattooing process was no easy feat. "It HURT! I was bedridden the next day," Saldaña recalled.
