Britney Spears has fans and friends concerned as the release of Kevin Federline's memoir has reportedly taken a toll on her. On Thursday night, the singer was recorded driving "erratically," and the details about the night are shocking.
According to Daily Mail, Spears was unsteady inside the Thousand Oaks restaurant Red-O, knocking over glasses with bizarre behavior like making a toast to the entire restaurant. After the commotion, a mystery woman then guided her outside by the hand.
In a video published to the Daily Mail, the 43-year-old pop star was seen leaving in her black BMW after people tried to stop her. She "nearly ran over her friend while pulling out,” a witness told the outlet. In the video, she busted an illegal U-turn, swerved into the wrong lanes, and into a bike lane.
Thankfully, she made it home without hurting herself or others. But the drama didn't stop there; then, Spears and her friend reportedly spent 20 minutes trying to get through her estate gate, “keying it in and driving up to the gate three or four times.”
The friend left after 20 minutes, and the "Lucky" singer kept trying before finally succeeding 10 minutes later.
A DailyMail source connected the night to Federline’s recently released memoir, You Thought You Knew, which insiders say has left Spears “in a tailspin… reopening old wounds.” “She’s acting out. She gets into these spirals, and it just goes downhill fast,” the source added.
Federline’s book, released Oct. 20, contains damning allegations about Spears, including claims she watched their sons while holding a knife and used cocaine while breastfeeding.
Spears has fired back, calling his claims “constant gaslighting” and “hurtful.” She wrote on X, “Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here,” adding, “I will always love [my sons] and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking.”
A rep for Spears also slammed Federline for continuing to profit off her, pointing out the memoir dropped after child support payments had ended.
Following the reports, Spears returned to Instagram, doing what seems to make her happiest- dancing. She shared a video dancing to Rihanna's 'Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary', holding roses that she eventually dropped. "I’d love to be your queen," she wrote in the caption.
