Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva are back in the US, looking as in love as ever. The couple, who's based in Spain, had a sweet date night in New York City, where they attended a screening of "Wisdom of Happiness," a documentary film produced by Gere.
Gere and Silve were photographed on the red carpet together, with him wearing a navy suit that he paired with a white button up. In the case of Silva, she wore a black dress that she matched with some elegant jewelry and some heels.
She styled her hair loose and wavy, and accessorized the look with some jewelry.
The couple smiled for the camera and shared a kiss, looking happy and at ease with each other.
Gere and Silva have been living in Spain for the past year. In late 2024, the couple sold their home in Connecticut and relocated to Europe to be closer to Silva's family. "The truth is that you are seeing us in our momentum. We are happier than ever," said Gere in an interview with Elle Spain. "[Alejandra], because she is at home and I because, if she is happy, I am happy."
The couple's plans for the future
Despite the fact that they're based primarily in Spain, the couple travels a lot and spends a lot of time in the US. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Alejandra revealed that returning to the US is not out of the question.
“We're always coming back. We'll come back here in the summer because we have the kids at camp,” she said. “For a few years [we’ll live in Spain], and then come back.”
For his part, Gere says that he's only being fair in living in Spain for a few years, as she did the same for him at the start of their relationship. "She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers,” he told Vanity Fair Spain. The couple married in 2018, and share two sons: Alexander, 6, and James, 5.
In different interviews, Silva has opened up about their relationship and how special it is. “We are like soulmates,” she said, per PEOPLE. “We have the same values, we see the world in the same way and from the first moment we felt like we have known each other for a long time. And this only happens once, if it happens at all... We were united by the karma of our past lives.”
