Victoria Beckham is speaking candidly about what it's like to raise children under constant media attention, and she’s not holding back. During an appearance on Today, the fashion designer opened up about how difficult it can be to see her children, Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, discussed in the press.

“How do you cope today, reading headlines about your kids?” the host asked. “Oh my gosh, it’s so horrible,” Victoria responded. “For me and David, the way we communicate with our children is so important.”

While public perception often fixates on the drama, Victoria emphasized what matters to her most. “I’m so proud of all of the kids. They are kind. They work hard.”

The interview arrives at a time when headlines around the Beckham family are more focused on tension than unity, especially when it comes to Victoria and David’s relationship with their eldest son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Victoria's parenting philosophy and views on family came up again in her October 2025 Elle cover story, where she pushed back on the narrative that the Beckhams are drifting apart.

Despite efforts to mend things, sources close to the family have said that the situation has remained rocky. In May 2025, an insider told People, “Every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again.”

“They've tried to make peace,” the source added. “Brooklyn feels torn. It’s his family and blood, but he’s always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like ‘business,’” the insider said.

“We’re a very traditional family, much more than I think people would realize,” Victoria Beckham said

Brooklyn was noticeably absent from major recent family events, including David’s 50th birthday celebration in May and the premiere of 'Victoria Beckham,' the Netflix docuseries about his mother, earlier this month.

Another source close to the family suggested the distance is emotional, not final. “The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”

Public appearances and speeches have reflected that distance. While Victoria publicly acknowledged each of her children by name at the October 8 premiere of her Netflix series, she couldn’t help but joke when listing her family. “My children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper. And David, oh my God, he’s not a child! I was doing so well without cards as well!”

In a September interview with Daily Mail, Brooklyn explained, “There's always going to be people saying negative things, but I have a very supportive wife. Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we're happy.”

“Everyone is always going to say rubbish,” he added. “I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It's good fun.” For Victoria, dealing with constant public scrutiny is nothing new. “There’s been so many stories about me, so many other people telling my stories over the years,” she shared.
