Ben Affleck shared some heartfelt thoughts on co-parenting with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, offering a rare glimpse into their ongoing partnership as they raise their three children together.
At the premiere of 'Kiss of the Spider Woman,' a film Affleck produced, he talked with Access Hollywood not only about the movie but also about his family life.
Reflecting on his eldest daughter, Violet, who recently spoke at the United Nations about COVID-era masking and clean air advocacy, Affleck said, “I could not be more proud of my children. I can’t even tell you.” He continued, “Violet takes after her mom. She’s spectacular.”
The actor emphasized how lucky he feels to have a strong co-parenting relationship with Garner, adding, “I’m very lucky that I’ve got a great partner and we’ve got great kids. It’s the joy of my life, and I’m just very, very lucky. And it makes me happy every day.”
Affleck and Garner, who married in 2005 and separated in 2015, share three children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13. Despite their divorce being finalized in 2018, the former couple appears to maintain a close and supportive bond.
This summer, the family was spotted together at Fenway Park in Boston, where Affleck and Garner watched the Red Sox play alongside Seraphina and Samuel. Their eldest daughter, Violet, was not present at the game.
NESN’s cameras captured a warm moment of the family in the front row, with Affleck wearing a Red Sox cap and sitting between the two younger kids. When the cameras caught their attention, Affleck nudged Garner, who smiled toward the lens.
Beyond his co-parenting praise, Affleck also joked about his dedication to his kids during a podcast interview with Jon Bernthal. When asked about excuses for canceling plans, Affleck explained, “It’s not an excuse if you heard me use it before... It’s like, you know, my kids. Like something comes up with your kids. Because that is the thing where you’re like, ‘Hey, I can’t do it. I gotta do something for my kids.’”
At the same 'Kiss of the Spider Woman 'premiere, Affleck reunited with another former partner, Jennifer Lopez, and expressed admiration for her work ethic and talent. Calling Lopez “amazing,” he acknowledged her dedication to the film and praised her many gifts, recalling how she grew up watching classic musicals.
