Bill and Hillary Clinton marked their 50th wedding anniversary on October 11, 2025. The former U.S. president and the former New York senator celebrated their golden anniversary by sharing heartfelt memories of their half-century together. To celebrate this milestone in their relationship, Hillary posted a touching message and photos on her social media.

The New York senator wrote words of affection about her partnership with Bill, noting that when they married 50 years ago, they had no idea how their lives would unfold. “But one thing I knew for sure then, and still know now,” she said, “is that I wanted to navigate the ups, downs, and everything in between with you. Happy anniversary, dear Bill.”

Bill Clinton shared his wife’s tribute and added his own loving reflection on their life together. “For 50 years, you’ve made me think, laugh, and grow,” he wrote. “You inspire me every day with your endless drive to do good in the world in every way you can. I’m so grateful for you and for the life we’ve built together. Happy anniversary, Hillary.”

Enduring Through Challenges

The couple has faced many challenges over the years, including the highly publicized infidelity scandal in the late 90s involving Monica Lewinsky, a 22-year-old intern. The revelation of their affair shook the nation and led to Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

The former President was charged with perjury, abuse of power, and obstruction of justice, from which he was ultimately acquitted by the Senate. While the controversy tarnished his image as a devoted husband and father, Hillary stood by his side.

The Clintons welcomed their only child, Chelsea, on February 27, 1980, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Growing up under constant public scrutiny, Chelsea has since built a career of her own, focusing on writing and public health advocacy. Married to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky since 2010, she is the mother of three children, making Bill and Hillary proud grandparents.

Hillary’s Political Journey

After Bill left office, Hillary launched her own political career and was elected to the U.S. Senate from New York in 2000. During the two terms she served from 2001 to 2009, Hillary was part of several key committees, including Armed Services, Environment, Health, Education, and Budget. She also played an important role in securing funds for New York’s recovery after the September 11 attacks and in supporting victims of terrorism.

Following her role in the Senate, she served as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013 and, after her 2016 presidential bid against Donald Trump, came closer than any woman before her to becoming President of the United States.
