Bad Bunny is gearing up to play the Super Bowl halftime show, but he's getting up close and personal with other sports, too. The Puerto Rican superstar was at the New York Yankees game against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, where he had every baseball fan's dream come flying at him - a foul ball.
In a video posted to Bleacher Report, Benito reacted quickly, but not by reaching out with his hat trying to catch the bowl; he protected his beautiful head and face. He crouched down as he realized the ball basically fell into his lap.
Benito picked up the ball with a smile, raising it to the camera proudly.
It was a huge game for the Yankees, who beat the Blue Jays 9-6. It was a sold-out crowd, and their win means they are back in the series with the Blue Jays up 2-1.
Game 4 is tonight and will determine if the Blue Jays make it to the World Series.
First stop baseball, next stop Super Bowl
The World Series is on October 24, and then it will be all eyes back on football. Super Bowl LX is scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium.
Bad Bunny will set the field ablaze with Latino energy to the excitement of millions. Of course, his performance has not come with racism, with many people in power and with a microphone forgetting that Puerto Rico is a part of the United States. A sad petition has even been started trying to get the NFL to switch performers.
While Donald Trump has said he has never heard of the singer, calling the NFL's decision "crazy," there are plenty of people supporting the decision, eagerly awaiting his performance.
Bad Bunny returned to Saturday Night Live this weekend and addressed his fans in Spanish during his monologue, saying, “More than being an accomplishment of mine, it’s an accomplishment for everybody, demonstrating that our mark and our contribution to this country will never be able to be removed or erased by anybody."
He went on to quip in English, “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
Jennifer Lopez, who also performed during the Super Bowl with Shakira back in 2020, also spoke out about the news on the Today Show, calling it a "cultural moment." She said she wasn't aware of the vonrevosery saying, "Why? But why? I don’t understand that. He’s one of the top artists in the world right now, probably the top.”
