While most of the world knows her simply as Ivanka, it turns out the eldest daughter of Donald Trump has been using a nickname all her life, and many fans are just now realizing it.

Back in 2010, Ivanka Trump responded to a fan’s question about the origin of her name, revealing a little-known detail about her identity that continues to surprise people today. “My actual name is Ivana,” she shared on Twitter. “In Czech, Ivanka is the baby name for Ivana, like Bobby is to Robert.”

For fans, it brings to mind comparisons like Lorelai and Rory from Gilmore Girls, where naming tradition and close maternal bonds collide.

The original Ivana Trump was born in Czechoslovakia and moved to Canada in the 1970s before settling in the U.S. She married Donald Trump in 1977, and together they had three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. Ivanka, now 43, was the second child in the family.

Trump also has two other children, Tiffany with Marla Maples and Barron with his current wife, Melania. Despite her legal name being Ivana, she’s gone by "Ivanka" in all aspects of her life, both personal and professional.

Clearly, the nickname stuck early on and became her public identity, even though her birth certificate tells a different story. The First Daughter is known for having a close relationship with her siblings, most recently, supporting Eric Trump’s new project.

The former presidential adviser took to social media to promote Eric’s newly announced memoir, a deep dive into the inner workings of what he calls “America’s most powerful family.”

Ivanka has shown support for her brother Eric Trump’s upcoming book.

While Ivanka entered the political spotlight as a senior White House aide during her father’s presidency, Eric took the reins at the Trump Organization alongside their brother Donald Trump Jr. Ivanka once reflected on their upbringing in a 2004 interview with New York Magazine.

"Look, none of us are saints. We all like to have fun. But I think our parents have just been pretty tough with us. They’ve always made sure that we lived within some realm of reality. I don’t know how they figured it out, but they knew the perfect way to give us what we needed without it being gratuitous," she said.
