Shakira wrapped up her wildly successful Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in Mexico on September 18 with a historic show at Estadio GNP. The Colombian superstar sang, danced, and celebrated alongside special guest Danna and even surprised the crowd with a mariachi.
After all that emotion, the very next day, on September 19, the “Ojos Así” singer traded the stadium lights for something quieter: a family visit to the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacán with her sons Milan and Sasha, whom she shares with Gerard Piqué.
In a video posted to TikTok, the three strolled through the famous “Casa Azul,” joined by Shakira’s brother Tonino, who’s always nearby. She tried to keep things low-key, but of course, fans spotted her, and in true Shakira fashion, she stopped for photos.
Her look was casual and comfortable, with the singer rocking an oversized yellow-and-white striped blouse, black pants, sneakers, and a cap. Milan, 12, kept it simple in a black tee, while Sasha wore a white shirt and a blue cap.
Clips from their stroll in Coyoacán are already circulating on social media, once again showing how down-to-earth Shakira is with her kids by her side.
Milan and Sasha have become Shakira’s most loyal little team over the past two years, often joining her at concerts and award shows, even making an appearance at the 67th Grammys.
Shakira takes over Mexico
Her stop at the museum came right after an unforgettable run in Mexico City. She delivered the final of 12 sold-out shows at Estadio GNP, standing in front of another packed house of 65,000.
The singer even got emotional, thanking the country that’s supported her since the very beginning. “Buenas noches México. My last concert in Mexico City. Honestly, 12 concerts at Estadio GNP, not even in my wildest dreams. Thank you, because without you it wouldn’t have been possible. It’s a true gift I will never forget,” she told the crowd. “As this stadium’s motto says, ‘Living is incredible,’ especially living what I get to live here on Mexican soil. I want the whole world to know that Mexico is magical.”
On Instagram, she poured her heart out again with photos from her final night: “What I experienced last night is once-in-a-lifetime. My last night, after 12 shows at Estadio GNP with 65,000 people each night, in a city that has seen the greatest artists in the world perform," she wrote.
"Thank you Mexico for always believing in me and for giving me so much. For singing, crying, and laughing with me these past 30 years, and thank you for this tribute, one of the biggest of my career. I carry you in my heart every single day of my life. You have always been, and will always be, my brothers. I love you Mexico!" she continued.
Now, after her emotional farewell, Shakira is heading to New York to perform at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on September 27 before bringing her tour to South America, with stops in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina.
