Martha Stewart is a woman of many talents. From insider trading, cookbooks, and her entrepreneurial spirit, she has made an incredible life for herself in her 84 years. But one of her most recent skills is mastering the thirst trap.
Stewart has been sharing incredible photos on her Instagram that always get people's attention. From sultry selfies, kissy faces, and bathing suit snaps, she knows all the right angles.
The traps are working too. On Wednesday’s episode of Today With Jenna & Friends, she revealed that people have been trying to shoot their shot with the baking queen. “Who [has] slid into your DMs with these traps?” Jenna Bush Hager asked her. Stweart responded, “Lots of people."
But it doesn't seem like anyone has made her light up. When she asked if she's dating anybody special, Stewart responded, “No, I’m not dating anybody special."
Martha Stewart's love life
The cookbook author and felon has been single for years and has only been married once. She and Andrew Stewart married in 1961 when she was still Martha Helen Kostyra, a 20-year-old student at Barnard College of Columbia University.
They welcomed their daughter, Alexis, in 1965. Stewart and Andrew separated in 1987 and divorced in 1990. Earlier this year, she nonchalantly admitted to cheating on him.
Following her divorce, Stewart had high-profile relationships with actor Anthony Hopkins and billionaire software developer Charles Simonyi. She ended things with Hopkins after watching The Silence of the Lambs, explaining, “I couldn’t get past the Hannibal Lecter.” Stewart dated Simonyi on and off for 15 years, from 1993 to 2008.
Now 84 and single, the icon has talked about how she has developed very “high dating standards.” Despite knowing eligible bachelors, she said, “I think they really want a woman who will take care of them, so I'm still not quite in the position where I can take care of a man full-time because I work too much.”
Analyzing her life, she said, "I think the work has taken precedence over the romance.” “I have a hard time making room for both, and it's not the highest priority that I have a boyfriend, but it would be nice!” she added.
How to master Stewart's thirst trap
The TV personality isn't keeping her thist trap secrets. Earlier this year, in May, she told PEOPLE magazine that timing is everything. "Well, don't try to take it if you're looking bad. When you're looking good, that's when you take a selfie."
She continued, “And if you have good makeup or you just happen to look good that day, take a selfie. Set yourself up with a good light; daylight is oftentimes very, very flattering. And take some pictures. And then discard the ones that don't look good. Don't let anybody see those.”
