President Donald Trump complimented the Princess of Wales' beauty as he and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Windsor. “You’re beautiful, so beautiful," the President of the United States told Catherine, via the New York Post.
Just last year, in December, President Trump called Kate's husband Prince William a "good looking guy." "He looked really, very handsome last night,” he told the New York Post. “Some people look better in person? He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that."
The Prince and Princess of Wales greeted President Trump and Melania on the grounds of Windsor Castle on Wednesday. Catherine looked elegant wearing a burgundy Emilia Wickstead coat dress with a matching Jane Taylor hat. The First Lady, equally known for her style, wore a gray Dior Haute Couture skirt suit and a purple wide-brim hat.
The Waleses walked with the American president and first lady over to Victoria House to meet with King Charles and Queen Camilla, who formally welcomed their guests.
Following lunch in the State Dining Room, Their Majesties invited President Trump and Mrs. Trump to view a special display of items from the Royal Collection relating to the United States of America. In the afternoon, the president and his wife visited St. George’s Chapel to privately lay a wreath on Queen Elizabeth's tomb. The Daily Mail's Rebecca English reported that the couple "spent ten minutes in reflection at Queen Elizabeth’s tomb" and after the president said, "This was a great honour."
The president and first lady paid their first state visit to the UK in 2019 at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth. President Trump received an invitation for a second, unprecedented visit back in February. Ahead of the trip, the 45th and 47th President of the United States remarked that it was "gonna be great and being with Charles and Camilla and everybody, I've gotten to know because of four years and now six months, gotten to know a lot of the family members. They're great people. They're really great people. And in that sense, I think that the UK is very lucky."
