It looks like Nicole Kidman's waist is genetic. The actress shares 17-year-old Sunday Rose with her husband, Keith Urban, and she's carving out her own place in the fashion industry. On Wednesday, she turned heads at New York Fashion Week, showing off her tiny frame.
The teenager arrived at Sofia Coppola’s Chanel Haute Couture book launch wearing a sheer Chanel crop top paired with black silk trousers, cinched at the waist to highlight her waist. It looked like she had been wearing one of her mom's corsets from Moulin Rouge.
The outing comes just weeks after the teen scored her first magazine cover with Nylon, where she was introduced as the publication’s August “It” girl.
In the spread, Sunday admitted she wasn’t even allowed to step into modeling until she turned 16, thanks to rules set by her famous parents. “School always has to come first,” she told the magazine. While she admitted she "hated" it at first, she said she's really glad now because having these "rules in place" keeps her "in a good mindset."
Kidman opened up about her rules in 2024 in an interview with Victoria Beckham. At the time, Rose had just attended a Balenciaga show. “She’s about to turn 16. That’s what I told her. When she was 16, she was allowed to come to a show," she told Beckam. "She’s wanted to go for a long time. That was her foray into it, and that was it. I’m like, no, no more. It’s a push-pull. I don’t want to hold her back because I don’t want to be coddling her."
Now that she has her parents' approval to start working, they've attended events together, and there's no doubt that Rose has a bright career ahead of her in modeling. She has already walked for Miu Miu, starred in its Spring 2025 campaign, and is showing face at the hottest events.
She told Nylon her love of fashion started when she watched her mom when she was a little girl. "Growing up, I went to my mom’s photo shoots a lot and got to observe, which definitely led to my interest in exploring the modeling world," she explained.
It's clear she appreciates designers, and she said she loves how every brand is different. "Just watching the shows, you can see how each designer expresses themself in a different way through the collection."
It should come as no surprise that talent runs deep in the Kidman-Urban household. Sunday’s younger sister, Faith, just 14, appeared in a Clé de Peau Beauté campaign with Nicole earlier this year.
