Hip-hop’s most-watched breakup just got another chapter. Offset has finally spoken out about his messy divorce from Cardi B, and this time, he’s making it clear that he’s not here for the drama.
In fresh comments to TMZ, the “Swing My Way” rapper said he just wants “all peace” when it comes to his estranged wife and their family. “We got kids to take care of,” he explained, adding that his main focus is making sure their three children are supported through the split.
Offset and Cardi share daughters Kulture Kiari, 7, and Blossom Belle, 1, along with their son, Wave Set, 4. Even with the turbulence of their split, Offset says he’s determined to back Cardi in her career, confirming he will “for sure” support the release of her highly anticipated album, Am I the Drama, dropping Sept. 12.
Cardi B’s Unfiltered Take
Cardi, however, isn’t offering the same energy. In her September Billboard cover story, when asked if she saw a future friendship with Offset, she cut the question short with a sharp, “I tried. Next question.”
She’s also been vocal about her frustrations with him in the past. In June, during an X Spaces chat, she blasted Offset as a “deadbeat dad,” claiming he left her “with the kids’ bills” for a year straight. She broke down the staggering costs of raising their children, which reportedly include private schooling, extracurriculars, 24-hour security, a nanny, and even a personal chef on the clock from morning until evening.
“Kiari, have I asked you for anything?” Cardi asked at the time, accusing her ex of chasing spousal support instead of stepping up for their kids.
Inside the Divorce
Cardi officially filed for divorce in July 2024. A rep confirmed the filing but declined to provide details. Sources close to the couple said Cardi’s main goal was securing primary custody of their kids.
The high-profile pair, who married in 2017, had been drifting apart for months before the filing. Insiders shared that Offset wasn’t blindsided — both had been weighing their options and “trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while.”
Life After Cardi
As for what comes next, Cardi is moving forward fast. The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker recently came out of a $24 million civil trial victorious after being cleared of liability in a 2018 security guard assault case. On the personal front, she’s been linked to NFL star Stefon Diggs, marking a new chapter in her post-Offset life.
Offset, meanwhile, seems focused on keeping the peace and avoiding further public mudslinging. His comments suggest he’s ready to close the book on their feud and focus on co-parenting. Whether Cardi is willing to meet him in that middle ground is another story.
