Lauren Sánchez-Bezos stepped into New York Fashion Week with a head-turning look. On Wednesday night, the former broadcast journalist and newlywed made one of her first major public appearances since her wedding to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. This time, as a guest of honor at an intimate Chanel dinner celebrating filmmaker Sofia Coppola’s new book, 'Chanel Haute Couture.'
Held at the members-only Doubles Club in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the exclusive event drew a roster of A-list attendees. Sánchez-Bezos arrived alongside Kirsten Dunst, Gracie Abrams, Jon Hamm, Havana Rose Liu, and supermodel Iman, among others.
The evening not only marked the start of Fashion Week festivities but also paid tribute to decades of creative synergy between Coppola and the house of Chanel, including a 450-page homage to Chanel’s couture legacy, featuring archival sketches, rare photographs, and visual storytelling from Gabrielle Chanel to Karl Lagerfeld to Virginie Viard.
Lauren's fashion moment:
But it was Sánchez-Bezos who delivered a standout fashion moment of the night. She wore a strappy white tank top tucked into a sheer, polka-dotted black skirt. The skirt, which featured a pleated mini layer topped with a flowing, semi-transparent maxi silhouette, was the perfect summer-to-fall transition/
Around her waist, Sánchez layered multiple signature Chanel chain belts adorned with oversized medallions, complementing the metallic accents with dangly gold earrings, stacked bracelets, and a black quilted clutch.
To complete the look, she wore sheer black tights, pointed-toe heels, and a pair of oversized black sunglasses and peach-toned makeup.
Lauren's hair also made an impression, styling her long, chestnut-brown extensions, with honey-blonde balayage at the ends in loose waves. The look was similar to her wedding weekend in Venice.
Lauren's connection with Chanel:
Sánchez-Bezos’s connection with Chanel is nothing new. From birthdays in St. Barts wearing vintage looks from the brand to past appearances at the Sun Valley Conference and the brand’s pre-Oscars dinner in Beverly Hills, her relationship with the iconic fashion house has only deepened.
Her bridal wardrobe this June, reportedly valued in the millions, included high-fashion staples from Dolce & Gabbana and other couture designers. And in Saint-Tropez this summer, she made headlines in a sheer black animal-print gown. It’s no surprise that she chose Chanel again for her Fashion Week debut as Mrs. Bezos.
Now officially married to the world’s third-richest man, Sánchez-Bezos seems to be navigating her new public role with confidence, and she even took time to pose with fans outside the venue.
