Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were all smiles in Los Angeles as they reunited on Friday night with their kids, Fin and Samuel. The friendly exes and coparents were spotted arriving at the Moving Arts Theatre Company, where they met up with more family.
The only kid missing was Violet, who is back in college at Yale University for her second year. Ben's mom, Chris, was a part of the cozy reunion along with a couple of other people.
They all shared happy embraces, continuing to prove that nearly a decade after their split, Affleck and Garner will still always put their family first.
Ben and Jennifer's life after divorce
The exes first separated in 2015, but earlier this year, insiders told Page Six they're “closer than they’ve ever been” and “spending more time together than ever” post-divorce.
They cited Ben’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez and the chaos of the LA wildfires as reasons why. “They’re leaning on each other more than ever,” a source told the outlet.
In February an insider told DailyMail, "To Ben, Jen is superwoman." "She has saved him many times and there is nothing in the world he would not do for her," they continued.
It's no secret that some are hoping for a Bennifer 2.0 (the Garner edition), but a source told PEOPLE in December that they’re simply friendly exes. "Jen's grateful that Ben's doing well. They are friends, but that's it," the insider said.
Affleck, who recently turned 53, has been enjoying the single life after his whirlwind double shot at love with JLo, and Garner has been happily in a relationship with John Miller.
The couple has been together since 2018, but Garner's relationship with Affleck did reportedly spark some drama between them earlier this year in March. Photos and videos of the former couple at Samuel's birthday party, where Affleck had his arms wrapped around her quickly went viral.
A Page Six insider said at the time that Miller felt like “Ben crossed the line.” The source claimed Miller "knows nothing is going on" between them but believes "those photos aren’t a good look and feel disrespectful to their relationship."
A couple of months later, in July, a source told PEOPLE they were stronger than ever. "Those who know them say this is the most solid and connected they’ve ever been,” the insider said, adding, “John has also embraced Jen’s family life. He’s been patient, supportive, and deeply respectful of her dynamic with Ben and the kids.”
