Jennifer Love Hewitt enjoyed a rare night out with her longtime husband, Brian Hallisay, on Friday as the couple attended ABC’s End of Summer Soirée in West Hollywood. Both 46 years old, the pair will mark their 12th wedding anniversary this coming November.
The couple, who are not often spotted together in public, appeared smitten as they posed closely on the red carpet, both dressed in coordinated black ensembles.
The I Know What You Did Last Summer star — who recently spoke out in July about facing body criticism — wore a chic black pantsuit featuring intricate silver floral embroidery. Underneath her blazer, she sported a plunging camisole that offered a subtle glimpse of her décolletage.
Hallisay, meanwhile, opted for a casual yet sharp look, donning a short-sleeve shirt that showcased his muscular, tattooed arms, paired with tailored pants.
Jennifer wore her auburn-tinted hair in a sleek, center-parted style that complemented her polished appearance. Her makeup was flawlessly done, highlighting her eyes with voluminous lashes and finishing the look with a glossy mauve lip.
In an interview with People magazine last December, the actress opened up about her relationship and family life. She expressed pride in the strength of their marriage, which has endured through ups and downs — as well as raising three children together. The BareNaked singer quipped that their more-than-a-decade-long union feels like “190 years in Hollywood.”
The couple exchanged vows on November 21, 2013, just days before the birth of their first child, daughter Autumn, who is now 11. Although they initially crossed paths in 2011 while working on Love Bites, their romantic relationship didn’t blossom until the following year when they co-starred in The Client List.
“I thought he was the most beautiful man I had ever seen in my life,” the 9-1-1 actress reminisced. “I said to my manager and friend at the time: ‘I'm going to marry that man, and I'm going to have his children.’"
"She said, “Sweetheart, I think everybody thinks they're going to marry that man and have his children.” I was like, “Yeah, but I'm going to do it. Just watch.”’
Though Hewitt says she fell for Hallisay instantly, she suspects the feeling took a bit longer to develop on his end.
“I don't know that it was instant for him,” she confessed, “But it was instant for me.”
