Kris Jenner is once again redefining what it means to age on her own terms. The 69-year-old Kardashian matriarch has broken her silence on the viral facelift that had fans and followers talking about her for months, revealing her refreshed look in a new spread for Vogue Arabia’s September issue.
Kris opened up about her decision to undergo a second facelift, as she had her first fifteen years ago. She confirmed the procedure was performed by New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Levine, and for her, it wasn’t just about chasing youth.
“I decided to do this facelift because I want to be the best version of myself, and that makes me happy,” she told Vogue Arabia. “I had a facelift about 15 years ago, so it was time for a refresh.”
“Of course, my daughter Kylie went with me, while Kim was present at all times on FaceTime.”
Kris Jenner's viral moment:
The speculation around her new radiant look started earlier this year after a series of Instagram selfies revealed a seemingly ageless glow. The curiosity continued in May when she accompanied her daughter, Kim Kardashian, to Paris for the high-profile trial tied to her 2016 robbery.
She later turned heads again during Lauren Sánchez’s bachelorette bash. While People confirmed at the time that Kris had undergone cosmetic enhancements by Dr. Levine, it wasn’t until now that she confirmed the details herself.
Her thoughts on aging:
Kris, who turns 70 this November, wants the world to understand that her path is her own. “Just because you get older, it doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself,” she shared. “If you feel comfortable in your skin and you want to age gracefully – meaning you don’t want to do anything – then don’t do anything. But for me, this is aging gracefully. It’s my version.”
Kris revealed that her youngest daughter, Kylie Jenner, accompanied her to the appointment, while Kim stayed close, virtually. “Of course, my daughter Kylie went with me, while Kim was present at all times on FaceTime.”
“I decided to reveal some details because I feel it can be very inspirational to people who aren’t feeling so great about themselves,” she said. “Even when I had my hip replacement, we filmed it. I have the conviction that sharing these things can be helpful.”
She also reflected on her 2011 facelift, done by Dr. Garth Fisher, whose work went viral after Kylie revealed he’d also performed her breast augmentation.
“[Fisher] made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it’s like and not be afraid,” Kris shared via Instagram this past June.
As she approaches 70, Kris has no plans to slow down. “My mom worked until she was 82, and I’m planning on following suit… Maybe 85?” she mused. “I don’t know what 70 is supposed to feel like, but I feel great and I’m happy to be there.”
