Lil Nas X has people concerned and the internet talking after he was hospitalized with a possible overdose before being taken into custody. While that is already concerning, the news came with a now viral video posted by TMZ showing the 26-year-old strutting down the street during the early morning hours in Van Nuys.
The singer was wearing nothing but white underwear and cowboy boots, and at one point put a cone on his head as he went back and forth with the stranger recording. Since then, more details have come out, painting a chaotic picture.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at 6 a.m. about a nude man walking on Ventura Boulevard.
When cops arrived, Lil Nas, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, reportedly stripped down naked and lunged at a police officer. Nas was subdued and put in handcuffs, then rushed to a hospital by paramedics for a possible overdose.
A few hours later, the outlet reported that the "Ol Town Road" singer was booked for obstructing an officer. He is reportedly currently in custody and being held without bail for the misdemeanor offense at Valley Jail in Van Nuys.
Lil Nas X: possible overdose with a side of serving
Needless to say, the video of the singer has gone viral, and there are many theories surrounding what's happening to him. One of the main ones is that X is going down because of his sacrilegious videos in the past. "He played with God & hasn’t been right since," reads the top comment on The Shade Room.
But among the conspiracy theories, like "humiliation rituals and publicity stunts," are compliments. "That walk is fierce," someone wrote. "This is the most well put together OD in history. Boy was serving!!!" "Should we be concerned? Cus he eating that lil walk and dance up," and "Hope he’s okay and recovers swiftly!! Also the body is tea," are among the positive reviews.
What Lil Nas X has been up to
Before his arrest, the singer was very active on Instagram. Looking at recent posts, there were already people concerned. He shared a video on Wednesday, dancing in his room, which was cluttered. There is art on the ground, clothes and towels, and electric devices on what looks like a couch or bed. A giant metal, spiked, out-of-this-world prop, fur coats, and other random items.
In the clip, he was dancing in cowboy boots and a white robe, wearing an over-the-shoulder khaki bag that matched the boots. He also played the tambourine while singing "I want to live" and stomping the ground. In the comments were people who knew something was up. "I know a breakdown when I see one smh," "is he having psychosis episodes…" and "Do…do we call someone?" are among some of them.
