Brooklyn Beckham’s secret wedding vow renewal to wife Nicola Peltz has left his family surprised, not because of the celebration itself, but because they were reportedly not told it was happening. On August 2, while David and Victoria Beckham lounged aboard their lavish yacht off the Tuscan coast, their eldest son was halfway across the world in Westchester, New York, exchanging vows once again, this time without a single member of the Beckham family present.
The Beckhams reportedly discovered the news the same way the rest of the world did. Neither parents nor siblings, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, nor Harper, 14, received invitations.
"Not one member of the 30-plus extended family knew about the wedding, or were invited," a source told The Sun. The couple exchanged their renewed vows in an intimate gathering exclusively surrounded by Nicola’s family.
Nicola wore her 70-year-old mother Claudia’s 1985 wedding gown, while her billionaire father Nelson Peltz, 83, officiated the ceremony. Brooklyn, 26, later told People the renewal was a “really beautiful experience – a really cute memory” and even admitted: “To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her.”
He wore a suit without a tie, and Nicola once again wore her original $1.8 million engagement ring. The entire event was shared across their social media with the simple caption, “only love.”
But to the Beckhams, the message read very differently. Another insider said the move has caused deep emotional damage within the Beckham household, adding, “His grandparents are devastated too, as Brooklyn has always been so close to them.”
The fracture reportedly began before Brooklyn and Nicola’s Palm Beach wedding in 2022. At that original wedding, Liberty, daughter of Victoria’s sister Louise, was a bridesmaid. This time, even she was cut out.
Disputes reportedly broke out back then over the dress, Nicola chose Valentino over a design by Victoria, and even the first dance, which Nicola allegedly accused her mother-in-law of hijacking.
The couple’s decision to exclude not just the Beckham clan but also Brooklyn’s UK friends adds another layer to the rift. None of them were invited to the vow renewal either.
Brooklyn also skipped David’s 50th birthday and failed to publicly acknowledge either of his parents’ birthdays this year, a departure from the family's usual tradition of celebratory posts. In contrast, he recently posted “Happy birthday Nelson x We love you” to his father-in-law, alongside a smiling photo.
The aspiring chef and photographer also rebranded the inspiration behind his hot sauce line, Cloud23. Once named in tribute to his father’s iconic shirt number, he now says it's a reference to the day he proposed to Nicola.
Despite the heartbreak, David and Victoria have made subtle efforts. They continue to like some of Brooklyn’s posts and have never spoken publicly about the fallout. But their silence on the vow renewal photos seems to confirm they were not aware of the ceremony. “It is a very sad situation,” one insider said to the publication. “Everyone fears there is no way back now. It is done.”
