The days when Valentino and Matteo, Ricky Martin’s sons, were just little kids are long gone, now they’ve grown into young men. While one is more private, the other is already a social media personality with a growing fan base.
And it was thanks to ‘Tino’ that we got a glimpse into their unforgettable birthday celebration in the Bahamas, where they were joined by a famous urban singer and his family.
Yelena Morera, daughter of artist Wisin, shared a photo with ‘Tino’ and Matteo during their time in the Bahamas. On August 6th, Ricky Martin’s eldest sons turned 17, and they celebrated in one of the most paradisiacal places on Earth.
On Instagram, where he has over 83,000 followers, ‘Tino’ shared glimpses of the celebration, revealing that he and his twin were joined by Wisin and his family. “Birthday in the Bahamas,” he captioned the post, along with several party-themed emojis.
The special guests:
Valentino kicked off his birthday post with a video featuring a stunning white-sand beach, and one of his companions, Omarys, smiled at the camera, enjoying the special moment.
In the other photos, ‘Tino’ looked happy on the beach alongside some friendly pigs roaming near the shore. He also posed with Wisin and his mysterious friend. The images clearly showed how much the birthday boys enjoyed their beach day, playing in the ocean and enjoying the company of Wisin and his family, including his wife, Yomaira Ortiz, and daughter Yelena Morera. Just weeks earlier, Valentino had already shared a beach outing with Yelena.
Fun birthday moments:
The celebration didn’t end at the beach. In another photo shared by ‘Tino,’ he and Matteo are seen smiling alongside Wisin’s family, with two birthday cakes in front of them, decorated in shades of blue and gold. It appears each twin got to blow out the candles on his own cake, following a birthday tradition.
Valentino wrapped up his birthday post with a sunset photo taken at the beach, adding a few emojis to match the occasion. He had posted a similar image the previous weekend, which had led some fans to mistakenly believe he was in Puerto Rico.
Where was Ricky Martin?
One thing that couldn’t go unnoticed was Ricky Martin’s absence from the birthday festivities. Known for being very close to his children, his absence likely came down to an unavoidable commitment. The Puerto Rican singer was scheduled to perform in Puebla, Mexico, on August 9th, but that concert was later canceled due to “contractual breaches.” It’s very likely Ricky is eagerly awaiting a reunion with his twins to celebrate with them properly.
“They’re with me all the time. I go on tour, and they come with me because we have tutors that travel with us too. Since the pandemic, Zoom has really made things easier,” Ricky said in a March 2024 interview with Despierta América (Univision). "I love that we’re so close, and that they feel comfortable asking any questions they have—and that the answers are always truthful and transparent,” he added.
