Arnold Schwarzenegger recently turned 78 on July 30, 2025, celebrating with fans and well-wishers from around the world. There's no doubt he looks incredible, and as always, he continues to build on his legacy. Most recently, he was focused on his Netflix series Fubar, which he starred in alongside Monica Barbaro—nominated this year for an Oscar for A Complete Unknown—and Milan Carter.

But Arnold’s Netflix run has come to an end. The platform has canceled Fubar, the action-comedy series led by the Terminator star. The announcement came a month and a half after the premiere of the second season.

According to Deadline, this action-comedy also marked the return of the Austrian-born actor to the genre, as he hadn't appeared in a project like this since Jingle All the Way in 1996.

Fubar had a promising start. The announcement of the project has generated significant excitement for Schwarzenegger's Netflix debut. However, despite the success of the first season, which premiered on May 25, 2023, it was surprising that the second installment took over two years to be released. That long gap led to a noticeable drop in viewership.

The second season of Fubar barely made it into Netflix’s Top 10 English-language series during its first week, landing in the last spot with just 2.2 million views from Thursday to Sunday. That number was significantly lower than the first season’s debut, which pulled in 11 million views.

The abrupt end of Fubar places it among other cancellations on the platform in 2025, including The New Employee, Pulse, and The Residence.

Even with the addition of Carrie Anne Moss, best known worldwide for her role as Trinity in The Matrix, who joined the cast in the second season as Greta Nelson, a former East German spy in a passionate relationship with Brunner, the series failed to generate the same reaction and excitement as the first season.

Is Arnold Schwarzenegger gearing up for another surprise comeback?

There's one certainty: nothing and no one can stop Arnold Schwarzenegger. Even with this setback, Fubar marked his big return to TV. It was his first time leading a series after years of iconic movies like Conan the Barbarian and Total Recall. Now there’s talk that one of those legendary roles might be making a comeback.

Director Dan Trachtenberg, known for 10 Cloverfield Lane and the recent Predator films like Prey, hinted that the legendary action star could return in a future chapter of the popular sci-fi franchise. Trachtenberg has a strong track record for reviving big-name titles, so the idea of Arnold stepping back into one of his classic roles has fans buzzing.

Trachtenberg revealed that Schwarzenegger gave the green light to use his likeness in a new epilogue added to the recently released Predator: Killer of Killers. Prepare for more, as fans are already excited about this potential return.
