More than 20 years after 'Dawson’s Creek' left fans divided, Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson are back together again and ready to tell another love story.
The former teen drama costars and real-life exes were spotted in New York City on Monday, July 21, sharing smiles and deep conversation on the set of their newest project.
Holmes, 46, sported a soft pink flannel and relaxed trousers, while Jackson, 47, looked effortlessly casual in a green jacket, jeans, and a messenger bag slung over one shoulder.
Holmes is directing and starring in a new film trilogy titled 'Happy Hours,' and Jackson is officially along for the ride. According to Deadline, the pair will lead the story as characters navigating love, family, and careers, reconnecting as adults after the weight of life has reshaped their youthful romance.
"Happy Hours is described as a story about two people (Jackson and Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life’s inevitable obstacles," the publication detailed.
"I am so very grateful to be working again with so many of my wonderful friends on this film HAPPY HOURS. And working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship. HAPPY HOURS is a love story that includes so many people I adore. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we make," she shared on Instagram.
Holmes is not only starring and directing but also writing the trilogy, which marks her latest behind-the-camera effort after 'Rare Objects' (2023) and 'Alone Together' (2022).
Production for the first installment is already underway in New York, with parts two and three expected to follow. The rest of the cast includes Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson, and Jack Martin.
Holmes and Jackson’s onscreen chemistry is legendary thanks to 'Dawson’s Creek.' Fans may remember that the romance didn’t end with their scripts. Holmes and Jackson briefly dated offscreen during the show’s first season.
At the time, Holmes told Rolling Stone, “I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always.”
She added, “I feel so fortunate because he’s now one of my best friends. He’s been in the business so long, and he’s really helped me. I respect him as a friend and as a professional.”
