Chris Martin brought the internet together this week when viral footage from his Music of the Spheres concert exposed Andy Byron, CEO of tech company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer, for seemingly having an affair at his concert. Social media erupted with hilarious memes, discourse, and people still can't get over the wild situation. More details from the night kept coming, and shortly after, when another couple came on screen, he couldn't help but address what he had just witnessed.

When a young couple came on screen at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, the Coldplay frontman asked, “OK, now listen, are you two a couple? Are you two a legitimate couple?” he asked. The lovebirds, stoked to be on the jumbatron, had their hands wrapped around each other with the woman recording, but didn't respond.

"Do you understand English?” he said, before asking them if they speak Spanish. “Ok, I’m just going to risk it,” he said before serenading them to "Fix You." They shared a big kiss during it, signaling that they were, in fact, a legitimate couple.

The full video on YouTube posted by user calebu2 adds more wild context. Martin WARNED the crowd that the camera would be going around looking for people to sing along with. So they either didn't hear him, or just didn't think it would come on to them.

Updates: Deleted LinkedIns and more

Since the scandal hit the internet, more details have come out. It was originally believed that they were both married, but according to Page Six, Cabot is divorced, while Byron is married. His wife removed her last name from her Facebook before shutting down her pages altogether.

He took over the role as CEO in July 2023, and Page Six reports that Cabot was hired in November 2024. Byron praised her "exceptional leadership" in a since-deleted LinkedIn post. They've both deleted their LinkedIn pages altogether.

Astronomer, the data-based company valued at 1.2B according to The Post, has also launched an investigation. Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” the company said Friday via LinkedIn. “The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter, and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”

They also cleared up confusion over fake statements by Byron and the embarrassed woman who was on screen next to them. People have been invested in her as well, saying they wanted to hear from her. She was mistakenly identified as another Astronomer employee named Alyssa Stoddard.  “Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event, and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect," they said.

While it's a terrible situation for his wife, the internet was truly one. "I would like to thank Coldplay for bringing the nation together. For a day, you fixed us," reads one of the best Tweets on the situation.
