Hailey Bieber may have taken a subtle jab at Scooter Braun shortly after he shared glowing praise for Justin Bieber’s latest album, Swag, calling it “beautiful, raw, and truly him.”
On Saturday, the Rhode skincare founder posted a cheeky selfie to her Instagram Stories, showing her face with exaggerated, cartoonishly magnified eyes and lips. The photo was set to Mariah Carey’s hit track “Obsessed”—a song often associated with calling someone out.
Hailey’s post came just minutes after Braun had shared his own Instagram Story, heaping compliments on Justin’s seventh studio album. In his post, Justin’s former longtime manager called Swag “the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date,” adding, “there comes a time when an artist fully steps into their own — and that’s what he’s done here.”
“He poured his soul into this project, and you can feel it in every single run,” Braun continued.
Though he emphasized he wasn’t involved in the making of this album, Braun added, “I’ve played no role in this one, but as someone who’s always believed in him, I’m incredibly proud and impressed and genuinely enjoying the music.”
He highlighted “Daisies” as his standout track, praising its “special tone” and encouraging fans to “stream Swag and support an authentic voice.”
The posts come on the heels of a reported financial settlement between Justin, 31, and Braun, who helped launch his career. According to TMZ, Justin agreed to pay his former mentor $26 million, along with half of an additional $11 million that Braun claimed was owed in unpaid commissions from their years working together.
The debt reportedly stems from a $40 million advance from tour promoter AEG, which demanded repayment after Justin backed out of his Justice tour in 2022.
Meanwhile, Hailey continues to see massive success of her own, becoming a billionaire earlier this year thanks to her Rhode brand’s partnership with e.l.f. Beauty.
