Over the past few months, Barron Trump’s love life has drawn attention after several insiders revealed the 19-year-old NYU student has quietly started dating. While the son of Donald and Melania Trump keeps a low profile while attending college, it was reported that he is enjoying his time in school and spending quality time with a special someone.
“Barron has a really nice girlfriend and hangs out with her a lot,” a source told NewsNation. "But the whispers about his romantic life have done more than pique curiosity—they’ve stirred renewed focus on how Melania is navigating her son’s growing independence," the insider told the publication.
"[Barron is] much more like his mother, Melania — he keeps his head down and gets on with it. He is not trying to be BMOC (big man on campus)," the source continued.
While the youngest Trump prefers a private life, public fascination has only intensified. One professor reportedly remarked that Barron "doesn't really belong here," and a classmate described how he’s “watched like a zoo animal.”
Earlier this year, Kaya Walker, former president of the NYU College Republicans, referred to Barron as an “oddity” during a Vanity Fair interview. She later resigned amid backlash, clarifying: “The ‘oddity’ I talked about lies in the unhealthy fascination that people have with a teenager just minding his business by going to college and not at all in Barron Trump himself.”
While Donald Trump may have grand ambitions for his son, including political involvement, it appears Barron is carving his own path. “Barron is pretty apolitical — he doesn’t get involved,” another source told the outlet.
On the PBD Podcast last October, Donald Trump admitted he didn’t know much about Barron’s dating life and even speculated that his son had never had a girlfriend. Melania on the other hand, has remained deeply connected to her son’s life.
According to People, even before Donald was re-elected, she was already worried about the kind of people Barron might meet at college. “Melania’s main job is taking care of Barron, and I think it’s possible that she will follow him wherever he goes to school,” the source said to the publication.
“Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years," the source continued. “Melania is all about Barron and her family. She has always been family-oriented."
