Eiza González is going through a very special time in her personal life alongside her boyfriend, tennis player Grigor Dimitrov. For the first time, the actress has been openly affectionate and is sharing glimpses of their relationship with her followers. Recently, the Baby Driver star gave a peek at how she’s supporting her man at Wimbledon, the tournament taking place in London from July 1 to 14.
Eiza had some fun on social media, posting stories where she’s totally tuned in to every move her boyfriend makes on the court. On July 3, Dimitrov faced French player Corentin Moutet at the British Open, and she was undoubtedly cheering him on every step of the way.
The actress shared a photo of her boyfriend on one of the big screens at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. Eiza tagged him and added a few playful emojis, like the heart eyes one.
From her seat, Eiza, who by the way rocked a casual yet sophisticated all-white look, kept a close eye on her boyfriend. It seems like the 35-year-old Mexican actress was his lucky charm, as the Bulgarian came out on top after a match that lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Even though he advanced to the next round, an injured Dimitrov was forced to retire from his match against Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon despite holding a two-set lead. The Bulgarian was on the verge of pulling off a major upset against the world No. 1 when the injury struck.
The confirmation of their relationship
Eiza González confirmed her relationship with the tennis player in mid-May, after weeks of rumors linking them. The official reveal came on May 16, which also happened to be Grigor’s 34th birthday, and lined up with their appearance at the “Women in Cinema” gala in Cannes, France.
On her Instagram profile, the actress shared a series of photos of the two together, along with a heartfelt message that made it clear Eiza has found someone who makes her feel truly happy and fulfilled.
"Happiest bday to the man of my dreams. @grigordimitrov you're one of one," she wrote. "You truly are my absolutely favorite human, and I can't believe I've been lucky enough to find you. You've restored so much in me I didn't think was possible. "
