Shakira fans in Barcelona are going to be disappointed to learn that the selfies and photos they took with her were actually with an impersonator. Last week, a woman who looked just like the singer visited the Diagonal Mar shopping mall with a "bodyguard" and was quickly swarmed by fans.
The scene became chaotic, and mall security had to get involved as a growing crowd followed her through the mall, with one person even touching her head. The Shakira impersonator looked like she was having a blast, taking selfies, blowing kisses, and smiling widely. They even stopped inside a store to buy jerseys, with the security guard making a cheeky joke about her getting Gerard Piqué’s. She responded swiftly with a firm “no.”
The person behind the stunts is a creator named Jordi Tortosicrack, who poses as security alongside impersonators. He partnered with Andrea Correa, a professional Shakira impersonator, to pull off the prank. In another video, they headed to the beach in Barcelona, which literally brought some people to tears.
Tortosicrack has done multiple videos like this, including one with a Lewis Hamilton lookalike last month in June. "Lewis from AliExpress," one user quipped in the comments.
Perhaps his most convincing stunt was with a Raphinha lookalike. It can be a little weird seeing someone pretend to be you, but the Brazilian soccer player thought it was hilarious. He even jumped into the comments of the video, writing in Spanish, “Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha I even thought it was me.”
In another video from March, Tortosicrack ran security for Maluma and Aitana lookalikes. The “security guard” was fully in character as he managed the growing number of fans who wanted to take photos with the duo.
Fans in the comments gave their opinions, with many saying the Maluma lookalike didn’t pass the test - one even joked that he looked like “Maluma from Temu.”
