Fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger should be excited. In the new trailer for "The Running Man," the new action movie starring Glen Powell, Schwarzenegger has a brief but exciting cameo that references his incredible action career.
"The Running Man" is based on a Stephen King novel, which was previously adapted into a 1987 film led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and helped pave the way for his supremacy as an action icon. While the new film puts Glen Powell in the starring role, the trailer is not forgetting its roots.
The story is set in a dystopian world, where contestants of a reality game offering them large sums of money must survive for 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. Powell plays the role of a working-class guy who's trying his best to save his daughter.
In the 1987 film, Schwarzenegger plays the role of the father, a move that Stephen King criticized due to how large and imposing Schwarzenegger is. The new movie's trailer shows a glimpse of a new version of Schwarzenegger, showing his face printed on $100 bills, suggesting that he's likely the President of this dystopia.
