Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance were joined by their children at the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army military parade. Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel Vance looked adorably patriotic at the celebration in Washington, D.C. on Saturday—which happened to be their parents' eleventh wedding anniversary—dressed in the colors of the American flag.
Mirabel wore a red summer dress and flats, while Ewan was dressed in a white button-down shirt and light blue pants, and brother Vivek in a blue button-down shirt and dark jeans.
The second couple coordinated with their kids, with Usha wearing a white blouse and red pants and JD sporting a navy suit with a white shirt and red tie.
The vice president arrived at the event, hand-in-hand with his sons, and Usha holding hands with their daughter. The dad of three took to X to share a snapshot of Mirabel and Vivek watching the parade, writing, “Quite a view!”
The Second Continental Congress voted on June 14, 1775 to establish the Continental Army. The event on Saturday was a celebration of "250 years of our Army’s strength, service, valor, and discipline," the White House noted. The military parade was "designed not only to showcase the Army’s modern capabilities but also to inspire a new generation to embrace the spirit of service, resilience, and leadership that defines the United States."
The vice president delivered a speech at the parade, saying: “As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, the oldest branch of the greatest fighting force ever known to man, I want to say to all the soldiers all across our nation's capital and all across the world, happy birthday soldiers. We're proud of you."
In his remarks, JD also gave a shoutout to President Donald Trump, who turned 79 on Saturday, as well as to his wife of 11 years, Usha. The vice president said, "June the 14th is of course the birthday of the army. It is of course the birthday of the president of the United States and happy birthday Mr. President, but I would get in trouble if I didn't mention that it's also my wedding anniversary. And so to my lovely wife, I love you honey. Happy anniversary and thank you for everything that you do for our country."
The second lady and vice president, who met in law school, have been married since 2014. They welcomed their first child Ewan in 2017, followed by Vivek in 2020 and Mirabel in 2021. Usha publicly wished her husband a happy Father's Day on Sunday with photos of the vice president sharing sweet moments with his children. "Happy Father’s Day to @vp — who’s planned his big day around reading books, hunting for insects, building with Legos, and giving baths — and to my own father," the second lady captioned the post. "We love you, today and every day!"
