Coco Gauff secured her first French Open title over the weekend. She's the first American to achieve this in a decade, with the moment marking an important step in Gauff's career and her second Grand Slam overall. While Gauff undoubtedly worked hard for her achievement, some of the prep she did was in her mind, manifesting this dream and allowing herself to dream about it.

Gauff became the first American to win the French Open in a decade

Following her win on Saturday, June 7th, Gauff reflected on her work and the manifestation technique that helped her achieve this enormous goal.

In a photo shared from the French Open court, Gauff shows off a piece of paper that read: "I will win French Open 2025," written over and over again, by her own hand.

Gauff shared a photo of a handwritten note she wrote to herself, manifesting the 2025 French Open title

"Ignore my handwriting, but I saw Gabby Thomas do this. Had to do the same lol," Gauff wrote over the post. Thomas is an Olympic winner who revealed that writing things down helped her visualize her dreams, and has been a tool she uses when competing.

Gauff's complicated journey with Roland Garros

Despite Gauff being a young player who stands at the top of the ATP charts, she's shared that winning these tournaments never gets any easier. In posts shared following her win, Gauff opened up about her Roland Garros journey.

Gauff was this year's winner of the French Open

“Losing in the finals here 3 years ago had created a lot of doubt in my head. I thought I could never overcome the pressure, I thought holding this trophy would never happen,” she wrote. “The younger coco would have looked at me crazy because that girl never doubted a thing in her life especially when it came to tennis. But needless to say, I learned having doubt enter your head is impossible to escape but not impossible to overcome.

"Yesterday was a result of that. I overcame… and if I can, so can you.”
