Despite news of their breakup hitting headlines just a few days prior, Chris Martin still seems to be supporting his newly-minted ex, Dakota Johnson.

The Coldplay frontman confused fans on Friday night when he ended the band's show in Las Vegas with a reference to his rumored ex directly following news of their split. The singer--who was with the actress for nearly a decade--reportedly split from the star earlier this week.

"Thank you so much everybody," the singer said to the crowd at Allegiant Stadium. "Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other. Don't forget to see Materialists! We love you!"

After referencing Johnson's latest film, which also stars Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, the person who shot the video seemed to think the promotion meant "THEYRE NOT BROKEN UP." Once that clip was posted to celebrity news site DeuxMoi, however, other fans in the comments disagreed.

"I can totally seeing him supporting her even after the break up," one commenter wrote. Another added, "You can breakup with someone and still be supportive. Look at him and GP," referring his successful relationship with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson first started dating in 2017, but the notoriously private couple did not confirm they were in a relationship until some time later. As of now, reps for the pair have not officially confirmed their split.

Materialists, Johnson's new romantic comedy, is set to hit theaters on June 13. The romcom puts Johnson's matchmaker in the  position of having to choose between leading men Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal.

"I really love a rom-com if it feels like I can connect to the people in it,' she told Variety. "I think I've found it hard to connect to the people in some of the ones that I've been offered."

Johnson went on to explain she wanted to be in Materialists because of "the complexities of all of the characters. The paradox." She went on to say she was drawn to the idea of "Everyone being confused about what the f**k they're supposed to do with their hearts. And what's the right move? I found that very honest and I found it just so relatable."
