Jennifer Garner is opening up about her approach to aging gracefully and why she urges caution when it comes to cosmetic injectables. The fan-favorite actress, 53, shared her beauty wisdom in a recent interview, offering insight into her personal routine and the advice she’d pass along to others who are thinking about undergoing treatments and procedures.

Talking to Harper’s Bazaar, she shared her advice, especially for young women thinking about their appearance. When it comes to injectables, her philosophy is simple, “Find somebody fantastic and proceed with caution.”

Unlike other stars, she says she doesn’t rely heavily on Botox or other treatments, admitting, “Botox doesn’t work very well for me; that’s why I wear bangs a lot.”

The actress is also upfront about her conversations with doctors regarding plastic surgery. “I haven’t needed it yet, but I can’t say that I haven’t said to doctors before, ‘Do I need to do this?’” she shared. Her doctors have encouraged her to hold off. “So, God only knows 10 years from now what the conversation will be. I’m not there yet.”

The '13 Going on 30 star' credits her glowing skin to consistent sun protection. She’s worn sunscreen religiously since her twenties, a habit she credits for her youthful look in her fifties. In addition, she keeps her energy high by working out with younger, fitter people, which she says helps her “feel youthful.”

More than anything, Garner emphasizes the importance of embracing aging instead of fearing it. “I want to age,” she said. “I want to live to be 100. I don’t expect to look at 100 like I look today. I want to wear every single bit of those 100 years and feel great about them.”

“My advice is to look at the mirror less and be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face,” she also told the publication in 2022.

“Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait as absolutely long as possible to add anything,” she urged. “Don’t think that you’re 37 and you need to be shooting up your face.”

“Look in the mirror less, obsess less, and look at the rest of the world to see what you could be using your time for instead," she declared.
