According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, he passed away from pneumonia and Cryptococcus neoformans, a serious fungal infection caused by breathing in spores from Cryptococcus, a fungus found in the environment.

His death has officially been ruled natural. AIDS was also listed as a secondary cause, which, as noted by PEOPLE, could have contributed to his weakened immune system.

TMZ reported that Guerrero had been feeling unwell since September 2024 but pushed through work commitments, traveling to Ireland, England, and the UAE. Just days after returning to Los Angeles, he checked into a hospital on February 21 and tragically passed away the next day. The outlet reported that he lost 20 pounds and had chills and hot flashes leading up to his death. He was only 35.

Kylie said that losing Jesus felt like losing a part of herself

The son of immigrant parents, his impressive client list included Jessica Alba, Katie Perry, Selena Gomez, Kali Uchis, Charli XCX, Rosalía, Maddie Ziegler, Venus Williams, Demi Moore, and more.

His sister Gris shared the heartbreaking news of his passing on February 23, describing it as “sudden and unexpected.” She also launched a GoFundMe to help with expenses, which has since raised $96,000. Shortly after, Jenner offered to pay for the funeral and support the family however she could. “She doesn’t want them to stress about money,” a source told People. Jenner honored him on social media with footage of her and Stormi singing him "Happy birthday."

Your words, your laughter, your kindness, your beautiful spirit will live in my heart forever," Jenner wrote.

JLo, who had just been with him in Dubai, shared a tribute that captured what made Jesus so special: “You never demanded the spotlight. You never needed to make a sound to be recognized, your heart and your talent did that as effortlessly as you artistry did… I know wherever you are there is beauty and light.” Although there were rumors that Lopez "left" him, his sister spoke out, saying she played a crucial role in trying to help him.
