Melania Trump is embracing "the future of publishing" with her latest project. The First Lady Melania is introducing her bold new venture, the release of an AI-narrated audiobook of her 2024 memoir, 'Melania.' But this is not just any narration, it’s voiced entirely by an artificial intelligence replica of her own voice.
The use of her voice with the help of AI was developed under her personal direction, taking charge of the project while using the latest technology.
The seven-hour audiobook, priced at $25, is now available in English exclusively through the ElevenReader app, a digital platform developed by audio tech startup ElevenLabs. Foreign-language editions in Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi are slated for release beginning in fall 2025.
“I am honored to bring you Melania – The AI Audiobook – narrated entirely using artificial intelligence in my own voice,” she shared on her X account. “Let the future of publishing begin.”
Originally published in October 2024 by Skyhorse Publishing, 'Melania' follows the former model’s journey from her childhood in Slovenia to her career in European high fashion and eventual move to New York City.
The memoir tells her “serendipitous” meeting with Donald Trump, a turning point she describes as life-changing. The book, according to Skyhorse, is “a compelling and inspirational memoir” that sheds light on a woman who “has navigated challenges with grace and determination.”
She also shares previously unseen photos and anecdotes from her private life and time as First Lady, including White House events to intimate family moments.
When it comes to the use of AI, ElevenLabs has made waves by offering AI-narrated works in the voices of icons like Dr. Maya Angelou, Deepak Chopra, Arianna Huffington, and Richard Feynman. The app even lets users listen to books in the voices of late celebrities including Judy Garland, Sir Laurence Olivier, and John Wayne.
Melania’s memoir now joins this collection, and the AI-generated version of her voice is described on her official website as crafted “under Mrs. Trump’s direction and supervision.”
