In a surprising twist, Justin Baldoni and his team have withdrawn the subpoena they sent to Taylor Swift, and she will not have to go to court. But it seems like her relationship with Blake Lively will never be the same.
News broke on Thursday about Baldoni's team's decision to withdraw the paperwork. Swift's team had said from the jump that the singer "never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film."
Lively's "pleased" team responded proudly, telling PEOPLE, "We supported the efforts of Taylor’s team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel, and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process."
Their decision to drop the investigation on Swift comes after they dropped a bombshell claim that Lively tried to pressure Swift into releasing a public statement of support by threatening to leak public texts. Lively's rep went on to claim Baldoni and his team tried to put Swift "at the center of this case since day one."
"Faced with having to justify themselves in federal court, they folded. At some point, they will run out of distractions from the actual claims of sexual harassment and retaliation they are facing," they continued.
Is the friendship over?
There's been speculation for months about the status of Lively and Swift's friendship. Despite Swift being removed from the drama, it's hard to come back from some of the moments, like being referred to as Lively's "dragon."
An insider recently claimed that while they had "good times," their decade-long friendship has come to a head. “Right now, if Taylor had one wish, it would be that she never met Blake,” a source claimed to the Daily Mail on Thursday.
“When Taylor looks back at their friendship, she realizes it wasn’t worth all the stress Blake put her through. She can now see all the red flags that should have been a warning to her,” the insider alleged.
They further claimed the "Shake it Off" singer feels "relieved the relationship is over." "She put up with Blake’s antics for too long because she’s a loyal friend. It took the ‘It Ends With Us’ drama to finally get her to pull the trigger on it," they continued.
Travis Kelce has even unfollowed Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds. The source said they are both over it, explaining, “Taylor and Travis are disgusted with Blake and Ryan and how they tried to use Taylor in their fight against Justin Baldoni,” the insider claimed.
