Salma Hayek is making it clear she’s not just close with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, she’s family. The 58-year-old actress joined the couple and Blake’s sister, Robyn Lively, for dinner earlier this week in New York, and given everything going on with the Justin Baldoni lawsuit drama, Hayek is staying a loyal friend.

Their dinner went down on May 13 at RH Rooftop in the Meatpacking District just hours after Hayek's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover dropped, so it could have been a celebration. At the SI launch party on Thursday, the Desperado star told E! of their bond, “I’m close to the kids."

Lively and Reynolds share four kids: James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2. “I got a chance to go play with them," Hayek said, "They got to see the tía Salma.”

She added that the kids are even learning a little Spanish. “Especially a little one,” she shared. “They understand Spanish, and they’re lovely.”

Their connection isn't new; they've actually been friends for over a decade. She co-starred with Lively in Savages back in 2012 and worked with Reynolds in The Hitman’s Bodyguard (2017) and its 2021 sequel.

It's been a challenging time for Lively, so she likely appreciated having her good friend and sister. The Another Simple Favor star was all smiles.

Their outing came days after it was revealed that Taylor Swift has been subpoenaed in the ongoing lawsuit with Baldoni.

The day after their dinner, the internet was ablaze with rumors involving Lively’s legal team allegedly pressuring Swift to post a public show of support, a federal judge quickly shut it down. U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman struck the letter and affidavit from Justin Baldoni’s lawyer, calling the claims “irrelevant” and “improper,” and warned the team against trying to “promote scandal.”
