Pamela Anderson made headlines at the 2025 Met Gala, but not just for her dazzling entrances wearing a stunning Tory Burch gown. The actress arrived with a striking new hairstyle, debuting a short blonde bob with micro bangs.
'The Last Showgirl' star sparked conversation for her bold look, with many praising her for embracing a new look, while others said they missed her signature long blonde hair. However, her hair transformation had a deeper meaning.
During a new interview with Who What Wear, the 57-year-old actress, who is set to star in a new movie with Liam Neeson, explained the intention behind her Met Gala look.
“For the Met, I wanted something strong, brave, and committed—aligned with the night’s theme of tailoring from head to toe,” Pamela said. The theme of the evening, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” inspired her to channel what she described as a “feminine warrior.”
Her look combined structured elegance with minimalist beauty, a creative direction that felt deeply personal to her. I believe the world needs more of a feminine warrior presence, and this was my small contribution,” she added.
Following the mixed reactions, Pamela said she was not aiming to meet conventional beauty standards. “It wasn’t about looking ‘good,’” she stated. “That’s subjective anyway.” She credited the Tory Burch gown as the centerpiece of her look: [Tory Burch’s] dress was the star. I was just blessed to wear it.” While her hairstyle shocked many, it wasn’t a spontaneous decision.
Pamela revealed that she had actually wanted to cut her signature long locks “a few projects ago,” and used the Met Gala as an opportunity to do it. "It was a quiet nod to [my] favorite Bergman actresses,” she said, referencing Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann, stars of Ingmar Bergman’s films, a major influence on her aesthetic choices.
This year’s appearance marked Pamela's second time attending the Met Gala. In 2024, she debuted in an Oscar de la Renta corseted gown and a full face of glam. Her 2025 look, by contrast, was defined by minimalism, rocking little to no makeup, and diamond jewelry from Pandora.ed
