Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise have the world wondering what is going on with their relationship. The actors have not only been spotted together multiple times over the last couple of months, but they recently left David Beckham's birthday party together, the Cuban-Spanish actress doing a classic move in the car, hiding from paparazzi.
While sources have been shutting down the speculation, with various outlets saying they are working on projects, it's getting hard to convince people, especially with late-night departures together. After helicopter rides and pre-birthday and Valentine's Day dinners, de Armas has finally broken her silence on her Cruise connection.
The 37-year-old beauty is currently promoting her new John Wick spinoff with Keanu Reeves, Ballerina, and in an interview with Good Morning America, she didn’t dodge the question about Cruise, offering some insight into what she described as a working relationship.
Michael Strahan asked de Armas about working with Cruise, saying it was going to lead her to do some other "crazy stunts." "What do you think?" de Armas said, laughing.
"You didn’t get enough with Ballerina? You’re asking for more," Strahan said. The actress then looked off before explaining, saying, "It's so much fun," adding that she and Cruise are "definitely working on a lot of things."
"Not just one, but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. And I’m so excited,” she replied. Liman previously teamed up with Cruise as director on Edge of Tomorrow (2014) and American Made (2017), while McQuarrie is a longtime Mission: Impossible collaborator.
While little is known about Cruise and de Armas, a source recently told Us Weekly that they have known each other for years but got close earlier this year in February when they met about work. The insider also claimed, “They’ve gone out on some dates and it’s very low-key." “It’s in the early stages and he’s been courting her," they said of the alleged relationship.
Whatever's going on, the Knives Out star even has access to his helicopter when he's not around. Last week, she was spotted taking it for a ride without the 62-year-old as pilot.
A jealous ex?
While the A-listers very well might just be working together, de Armas' ex, Ben Affleck, is reportedly feeling some kind of way about it. According to an insider who spoke with the Daily Mail, “Ben is kind of [a] jealous [type]."
The source said he had a less-than-positive reaction to the rumors. "He really liked Ana a lot, and then she walked away and left him sad. So to see her happy with his friend is kind of weird for him.” “But Ben is also happy for Tom," the source insisted.
The former couple dated from March 2020 to January 2021 after working on the 2022 film Deep Water.
