Salma Hayek's unexpected arrest at Sabrina Carpenter's concert was a fun moment for the actress. However, the night took a turn when Salma had a moment of panic with her daughter, Valentina.
The mother-daughter duo was in London for the show, and the Mexican icon got to keep the pink handcuffs. Salma detailed what happened during her appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday night.
Following the concert, Salma and her daughter spiraled into a comical emergency at home when they were playing with the handcuffs. “My first arrest, not too bad,” the actress said during the interview, explaining that she loves Sabrina and enjoyed her concert. “I love her!” she added. “This is the thing — I kind of loved it.”
Fans of the singer have come to expect Sabrina's signature move: selecting someone in the audience to “arrest” with a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs. At her March 9 show at London’s O2 Arena, Carpenter spotted Salma in the front row and wasted no time locking her in.
“Oh my goodness. Who is this woman in the front? I need some of that. For real. Wow, you are so gorgeous […] It’s crazy ’cause I just met you, but I’m already in love with you, and I feel like we’re kind of destined. I’m getting hot because you’re here,” Sabrina said before arresting Salma.
The playful encounter took a chaotic turn at home. As Salma recounted, her daughter later tried on the fuzzy restraints and then couldn’t get them off. “She had to go to school, and we couldn’t get them off,” Salma said, describing the panic she felt as she frantically tried to remove the prop.
“I started smacking them,” she said, miming the moment she attempted to break them open. “I just did not want to explain to the school… I handcuffed her on top of it!” Eventually, Salma was able to release her daughter before she left for school.
