Salma Hayek, the stunning 58-year-old actress who continues to have a successful career in Hollywood and is known for her talent and beauty, graced the cover of the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, leaving fans in awe of her ageless beauty and jaw-dropping figure.
Salma posed poolside in a bikini, proving once again that she is the whole package. But behind her flawless appearance, the Mexican icon revealed that her secret to staying in shape and maintaining her 24-inch waistline has nothing to do with hours in the gym.
While many believe fitness regimens and intense workouts are the secret behind a perfect figure, Salma said she takes a different approach, balancing exercises with other practices. She credits her sculpted physique to a mix of gentle practices, including meditation and restorative yoga.
"People say it’s exercise. For me, it’s meditation," she told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview. "I really believe it is. You have to find your way. Exercising is hard for me, but meditation is like a walk in the park."
The actress enjoys daily meditation sessions, using the practice not only for mental clarity but also to keep her body in check. "I can meditate for hours without noticing the time," she added, revealing her unique approach to mindfulness.
She also embraces a holistic lifestyle, which includes practicing yoga, indulging in juice cleanses, and taking long walks with her dogs, whom she humorously refers to as her "trainers."
Salma maintains a level of body awareness throughout her day. She explained to People back in 2015 that she activates her muscles simply by holding her body in certain ways during daily activities, such as brushing her teeth.
In addition to these low-impact practices, Salma also benefits from modern skincare technologies. The actress has confessed to using radio-frequency and micro-frequency machines to tighten her skin and reduce wrinkles, a more high-tech approach to maintaining her youthful appearance.
However, when it comes to more invasive cosmetic procedures, she stays far away. "No Botox, no fillers, no peels," she declared in an interview with Elle in 2015, instead relying on natural ingredients.
One of her most treasured skincare secrets is an ingredient called Tepezcohuite, a bark extract used in Mexico for burn treatment due to its regenerative properties. "It completely regenerates the skin," Salma explained, emphasizing how this rare ingredient remains underutilized in American skincare.
Salma has shared that her impressive figure is also due to her genetics. With a Lebanese father and a Mexican-Spanish mother, she’s inherited a naturally slim waist and hourglass shape. "Beautiful women, fabulous genes there," she previously wrote on Instagram, posing alongside her mother, Diana Jiménez Medina.
