We’re used to seeing Victoria Beckham (51) with her flawless looks and sky-high heels, but this weekend she showed up looking entirely different. The British designer stepped out from the “hiding” she’s kept since the latest drama with her son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz, and her outfit—according to many—says a lot about how she’s feeling.
Sources close to her say Victoria is “heartbroken” and completely devastated by the family crisis they’re going through. That might explain why the former Spice Girl chose to wear a black tracksuit and oversized sunglasses for her reappearance in New York. She seemed to be without makeup and swapped her signature stilettos for comfy white sneakers.

She wasn’t alone on this outing in the Big Apple. Her husband was with her. David Beckham, also looking especially serious, went for a low-key outfit: cropped slim-fit pants, two-tone sneakers, a buttoned coat, and a travel bag to complete the look.
David’s approach has been different—he’s played the role of peacemaker throughout all of this. “He’s desperate to make peace with Brooklyn because he’s afraid history will repeat itself,” sources say, referring to the well-known fallout David had with his own father, Ted Beckham, back in 2005. That rift was sparked by Ted’s unauthorized biography David Beckham: My Son, which revealed personal details about the footballer’s life without his permission.
“There’s been no call, no contact, nothing... As parents, David and Victoria are worried about their son and have tried reaching out, but he’s just not interested,” another source told the Daily Mail. “David even tried connecting through social media last Monday because he’s afraid Brooklyn won’t realize that he and Victoria still love him.”
People close to the family also say Brooklyn has cut ties with his old friends and “does everything Nicola asks,” a behavior his parents are deeply unhappy about.
Despite David's good intentions, sources caution that his patience is waning. “The feeling is that Nicola has isolated him from his entire family,” they say. Apparently, the American actress holds the belief that her husband should mature and begin living his life according to his own terms. “She doesn’t like that he tries to imitate his dad with his tattoos, clothes, and hairstyle, so he’s changed his look a bit,” the source adds.
